UN food chief, David Beasley, warns that “hell on earth” food shortages will occur in 2023, as a result of fertiliser shortages.
“The world produces enough food to feed everybody on the planet, over 7.7 billion people. 50% of that food is because of fertiliser, so if you don’t have fertiliser, you can’t harvest at the yields that you need.”
